My Thursday’s Thoughts are political once again. It came to me after watching numerous rallies in Pennsylvania over the past week.

You may think that your vote is worth as much as any other citizen of the United States, but sorry I must “burst your bubble”.  I can’t allow you to continue living a lie and in denial. Unless you live in one of the designated “swing states”, your vote may not mean that much. If you do not believe me, ask yourself “how many times have the candidates been to your state campaigning?” How much money is being spent on advertisements and calls in your area? If that number is really low or maybe even zero, then you’re not worth as much as say, “a swing state voter or independent”, in the campaigns’ eyes.

I don’t understand why voters don’t complain when candidates don’t treat their vote as important as the next person. With the candidates spending so much time in every nook and cranny of PA, OH, FL, CO, NC, and probably a few others, I began to feel unappreciated. The electoral college makes this voting process seem unfair and makes it very apparent that my vote is not worth as much as a Floridian’s vote.

So I’m wondering: How much is your vote really worth?

Middle Name

Jo-Lynne had this meme on her page and I thought it was really cool, so I wanted to do it too. Thanks Jo-Lynne, you’re a sweetheart to so many of us in the webosphere.

Middle Name Meme

So.  The rules:

  1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.
  2. Players – You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name.  If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.
  3. At the end of your post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.

My middle name is J’Netra, so here goes.

J  – Jealous. Maybe it’s middle child syndrome, although I’m not the middle child, just a child in the middle, I’m a jealous person.

N  –  Napping. I can take a “nap” at any time. The naps that last all day are my favorite. I love sleeping, napping or whatever you want to call it, just allow me to close my eyes and go to dream land.

E  – Evasive. I’m evasive when people ask me questions that do not pertain to them in any way, shape, form, or fashion.

T Teaching! I love teaching. I enjoy it to the fullest and I’m happiest when I’m teaching.

R  – Reader– I really enjoy reading all types of materials.

A – Attitude. A lot of people would say that I have an attitude, but I think not…..at least not anymore.

I’m supposed to tag five.  I hate to tag people.  I’m always afraid of putting them on the spot.  So if you don’t want to do it, no pressure!

J –

N –

E –

T –  Truly Captivating…

R – Roshonda

It may look incomplete, but I didn’t have any more names or people.

The Weekend Trip

This weekend the fam and I took a trip to Memphis. It was really fun and I truly enjoyed myself. We attended church at Breath of Life and because it was Women’s Day, the service was, IMO, extremely good and relatable.

Although I did not get the opportunity to go to a Mexican restaurant, I did get to go to my fav store, DollarTree. You see, while most people would choose to shop at a big box store or sommewhere extravagant, I’m into simple things. Put me in a Dollar Tree and I’m completely happy. I LOOOOVE me some Dollar Tree. I was not in the actual store long, but I picked up some great finds. Shopping is so relaxing.

After shopping, I was introduced to the best store bought pizza ever. My sister told me about Tony’s pizza and because I’m not into pizza that I’m required to bring home and cook, I was a little apprehensive. But let me tell you, that Tony’s Hamburger pizza was DELICIOUS. I have NEVER tasted a pizza so flavorful and just perfect.

Well, that was my weekend in a nutshell. Not a lot of hooplah, but I did get to see Key and that’s all I really needed.

Treasures In Heaven

Sabbath Scripture

Matthew 6: 19-21

19“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
