Fish Funny

Buddie came in my room yesterday and said so proudly, “we got whitening fish and grits” and left out.

I was left wondering “what in the world is whitening fish.”

So Creamy

I have been looking for a great cup of hot chocolate for over a year and  now I think I may have hit the jackpot.

I read an article comparing hot chocolate and it stated that consumers had chosen Land o’ Lakes as their favorite in store brand. I thought I’d try it and was pleasantly surprised. It’s so creamy and yet still chocolatey, a great combination. I loved my first cup and am looking forward to the next one.

Hot Chocolate

One of my favorite things to drink is hot chocolate. I can drink hot chocolate in the winter or the summer. I love it in the morning as well as at night. I just love hot chocolate. But, with this love of hot chocolate, comes a problem. I’m picky with the type of hot chocolate that satisfies me and I have been on a quest to find it close to home.

While attending graduate school, I frequently visited this coffee shop en route to class and would always order hot chocolate. Now I’m not a coffee drinker, but this hot chocolate was very familiar to the taste of coffee. Well, after graduating I was no longer able to visit this particular shop and get my cup of hot chocolate. So, to satisfy my craving I found a coffee shop near home and ordered, what else, a hot chocolate. I smelled its aroma and thought I had hit the jackpot. To my disappointment, this cup of hot chocolate tasted like a melted Hershey’s chocolate bar, extremely too sweet. This is not what I was expecting, not at all.

I have tried McDonald’s hot chocolate, instant packets of hot chocolate, and sooo many other kinds that I’m totally frustrated. I just want to find a decent cup of hot chocolate; not too sweet, not instant-tasting, a coffee aroma and taste, and close to my home, preferably one I can make at home. Please help a sista out. Help me find that perfect cup of hot chocolate. I’ll be forever grateful.

I thought I’d share this because in actuality it was quite funny.

On the 4th of July, we were outside eating our barbecue, corn, and all the other delicious fixings. NuNu was so hungry that she got her plate before anyone and gulped it down in one bite ate it all up, being careful to chew her food completely. So NuNu eats and wants some more food. Pooh fixes her another plate, but this time she didn’t eat much. She leaves an ear of corn and some baked beans on the plate. I know that NuNu is going to be starving hungry in about an hour so I tell KiKi “take that corn in the house.” I look up and see KiKi take the corn off the plate with her hands and proceed into the house to put up for later. I immediately tell her that she doesn’t need to take it in the house, just put it back on the plate and throw it all in the garbage.

I now know that when I want something done, be specific with the instructions.

A friend and I were having a discussion about food last night. I thought it was so funny, so I’ve decided to share.

Me: I’m so hungry, but we only have ham.

Her: Ham, I thought you didn’t eat pork?

Me: It’s not pork, it’s turkey ham.

Her: Ham is ham and it comes from a pig.

Me: This is turkey ham, it comes from a turkey.

Her: Then it’s not ham, it’s turkey.

Me: I give up.

Both: laughing uncontrollably
