1. If you could say anything you wanted to say to George Bush, what would you say?                                                                                                       I watched your farewell speech you gave in Midland, TX after leaving DC and I now look at you differently. I disagree with things that you did, but I do respect you as a person.

2. If you had to be the mother of Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan, who would you choose and why?                                                                         Britney Spears. Not exactly why I chose her, I just feel that she needs the love and someone to just listen to her. Really listen and be there for her as a person.

3. You get to be Queen for a day. The kids are all taken care of, and you can spend as much money as you want. What do you do all day?              I don’t have kids, so that’s not an issue, but I would spend the day being pampered; massages, pedicures, manicures, etc. and shopping til I dropped.

4. Is there a song that brings tears to your eyes every time you hear it? If so, which one?                                                                                                         The Corinthian Song (I’m a Vessel) by Micah Stampley

5. A fairy taps you on the shoulder and tells you that you can either have a perfect face or a perfect body for the rest of your life. Which do you choose?
Body. This question is deep.

6. If you could live any place in the world and money was no object, where would you live and why?                                                                                 I’m not really sure, but it would be in the United States, just not sure where. Hopefully somewhere quiet, but close enough to a mall.

7. What is your biggest regret in life?                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Not calling to tell my principal I would be late.

8. If you could go back and visit one person in your life who is now dead, and ask one question, what would that question be and why would you ask it?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             I don’t have an answer for this.

9. If you had the choice to age forward (like we are now) or aging backwards (think Benjamin Buttons) which would you choose and why?             Age forward, I like this process

10. What will the epitaph on your headstone say?                                                                                                                                                                              Daughter, Sister, Teacher, Friend

Who Knew….

Who knew that preparing 2 weeks of bible lessons for children would be so hard. I thought that teaching the kids would be a breeze, but notsomuch, especially when no people such as Joseph or Jonah or even Noah are mentioned. I have also had to deal with the fact that I have had a wide range of ages and have needed to keep them all interested and involved at the same time. Although difficult, the lessons have not only been for the kids, but I feel like I have benefitted tremendously.

The Evangelistic Series continues and tonight I have the topic of salvation planned for the kids. Preparing for this particular lesson was exciting and uplifting for me and I hope they enjoy it, understand it and give their life to Christ.

I’ve been MIA it seems like forever, but it’s only been a couple days. I know, I know… I know I was truly missed. lol.

Well, anyway, here’s my update for the past few days:

  • I now have a new brother b/c my sister got married.
  • I can admit I was wrong, b/c all the people here wasn’t bad at all. I actually enjoyed myself. Maybe it was the occasion or the people or just me, whatever it may have been, I was okay with the family and friends.
  • The house is relatively quiet now; NuNu and Key have their moments.
  • Revival started at my church Saturday night and that first night, the sight of all those kids in my care almost made me faint, seriously. NO JOKE!!!
  • I am now comfortable with the kids and I do think they enjoy learning about Jesus and the Bible songs I teach them.
  • After telling NuNu to put her dress down b/c little girls don’t raise their dresses, she replied with “I’m a woman.” Wow, news to me.
  • And one last thing, the Olympics have been fantastic.

Procrastination

I should be filling out my application for my teaching license, but instead I’m doing what, blogging. Procrastination is not good in this case. I need the license in order to teach because my current license expires next month. But even if they didn’t expire and I had another year left on them, I should be more proactive in completing the application because I have completed my master’s and therefore will be paid more with that on my license.

Touching You, Touches Me

As a teacher I cnstantly think to myself if I have touched a child’s life in a positive way. Yesterday a former student visited me and she reminded me of how little things that I may not necessarily see as important can mean the world or make a difference in a life. She did say that she loved the projects we did in class and enjoyed me as a teacher. That little comment from her, innocent and all, meant so much to me. Sometimes we need confirmation that we are doing great in our respective careers and I’m grateful that I am able to touch and change lives.
